Husk Vases, Kyoto RedHusk vessels are exquisite, original iridescent sculptures. Between 15 and 20 layers of lacquer are brushed onto lost wax cast organic forms. Each layer cures after 5 days and is sanded smooth before the next layer is added. Finally layers are sanded through to expose the layers and then polished. Ancient techniques on a contemporary form.
