Pachypodium lamerei Specimen 55 / 200One of the most exciting specimens from our collection is the extra large Pachypodium lamerei. Its thick silver trunk, covered in masses of grey spines, has grown wide at the base with age allowing for long periods of drought. Bright green lanceolate leaves grow from the tips of the stems, arching over similarly to palm fronds, giving the plant its common name of Madagascar palm. Pale yellow blooms appear at the tips during the growing season.
