"The Tastee Freez"This painting recreates for me the thrill of seeing my first Sting Ray in the fall of 1962. Darwin Clark, the owner of a black 1963 coupe and then a vice president of General Motors, was eager to let me photograph his car as the subject of a watercolor painting. I envisioned it beside a Kirksville, Missouri, landmark, and The Tastee Freez became a special memory for me.
